Trip to San Fran Canceled
Well I guess I should fill in my fightticker family on the whole story.
As many of you already knew the Ladies of Pain has asked me to do a prediction video for them for the Team USA vs. Australasia event………
I was very excited, and Michael and I went to work on it right away. From there, I guess I formed a bond with them.
Soon after school let out for the summer, I got a phone call and was asked “if I would like to come to San Francisco for a few weeks, on an all expenses paid trip to train, and a cheer camp” I will never forgot what I did while Sam was talking I looked at my Dad at whispered “Oh My Freaking God”
The kicker was I have never been in an airplane, and did not intend on start doing it by myself, nor did my Mom plan on letting me.
So I told Sam (the match maker) and Alexis I would love to go but I couldn’t do it alone……They agreed, and said it would be cool to bring someone with me.
So my summer has been spent focusing on this trip (pretty much) getting into “wresting shape” I wrestled the 85 pound class in wrestling season and it is almost wrestling season again, and I weigh about 86 pounds…..
Last week it started to get really close to time to go but we had not received our tickets? The sponsor had backed out. We had a host family, training, gear, and were going to attend a MMA event while there.
I think I have made true friends for life, and although I can’t lie, this is going to be hard to deal with as kids for a while but we will be fine.
We have football to bury ourselves into now. Michael is a high school player, and I am a cheerleader on our Pop Warner football team. I will also be testing for my purple belt next month.
I would like to thank Dr David Mayeda (MMAcademics) who sponsored me to go out there. I promise to get those book reviews handed out as soon as I can.
And thanks to all of my friends here who help give me questions.....and everything else.
Pramit is my biggest help by far! since I started my MMA adventure as "youth voice" he has guided my every move.
I will not give up just because this little thing just get stronger. As a matter of fact, the question I had for Alex E. last night is also the topic on the UFN right now......The quesion about rather or not Dana is trying to take over the MMA industry, and should it be a monopoly?

Right now all we have done is filed for the copyright for the MMAfia name and Phoenix has come up with a few rough designs, everyone has been so busy, but we will get there and Brat will be wearing our stuff to the ring and flying around the country on our jet never having to worry about a sponsor again.

Brat, Sorry this didn't work out. I know it must hurt right now but you're on your way to great things. It sounds like you've got the proper perspective and sometimes you learn more from the low points than the high points.
It was still an honor for them to come to you with this opportunity and unfortunately the finances didn't work out.

I'm really sorry Brat. It would have been a great opportunity for you to go but since you are so young (I'm not bitter because I am so old) I'm sure the opportunity will present itself in the future. I'm sure you have heard the expression "when life hands you a lemon, make lemonade". It sounds like you are making the best of the situation so it just reinforces your maturity level to me and I know great things will be in your future.

I haven't touched base with King about play-by-play for tonights events. I think what I'm going to try for the first time on this site is an open thread where members can post their thoughts on fights going on between the two events in the comments section.
I'll post that open thread to the front page of the site at 6 PM ET. So, look out for it then!

I would love to do one of the events but my energy level is still kind of low and I don't want to make any promises that I can't keep. As much as I am looking forward to watching the two cards I probably will be doing so from my bed so I can get some rest, I have 4 weeks of testing coming up and I want to correct my problems the first time and if you guys knew my medical history and my inclination to try and mask these things you would understand my desire to actually do the right thing this time.
