the tabling doesnt display well in IE ... works ok in firefox

specifically, if i open the favorites bar in IE, it shoves the left margin into the main body of the threads... i think some of the banner sizes also jack up the IE table widths

firefox works ok with firefox's favorites bar open

i wont call it a new issue or anything but its something i noticed at times. (i close out the favorites window in IE to rectify) ... this is IE 6

Okay. So, I've been able to confirm that this is an Internet Explorer 6 issue. For those of you still using IE6, please upgrade to IE7, which you can do here:

Just so you know Microsoft already has an IE8 in beta so if you're running IE6, it's time for that upgrade!

Can someone check on IE6 and let me know how it looks? I changed something in the code.

The banners on the left are normal until you scroll down. Then they lengthen along with the text thats underneath them.

That is similar to what happens to me... excite it's far worse on mine at times. The links overlap in to the text much further.

Unfortunatley I do not have any choince in using anything other than IE...

I use firefox mostly....... I only use IE when there's a website that doesn't support FF

OK. The browser that's shown in your pics is IE6. If you upgrade to IE7 (if your work allows you to), you'll be cool. It should work fine (I have both IE7 and firefox).

That is disturbing but not horrible. Other users having issues, are your problems similar, worse, or not as bad as the above pics?

I dont have a choice as I mainly check this site from my work computer.

It doesn't sound like the issue is debilitating or preventing you from using the site. There are enough users of IE6 who visit the site that this concerns me though...

It happened any time there was a large banner... such as the UCC banners. But it seems that in the last week or so it's like this all the time now.

And no, I cannot upgrade the IE on my work computer. I will on my personal one when I get home though.

My work monitor is old and small too, so that might be adding to the issue. Sometimes it's worse than others... there have been a couple of times that the text/comments on the right ran so far over the 'Live Feeds' that I cannot read any of the headlines.

Stupid work computer. Firewalls prevent downloading any software.

It's not a concern for me. I just thought you needed the feedback so I opened fightticker in IE6 so I could tell you what it looks like.. Let me know if you need anything else. I'm leaving the office soon, you can PM me if you need anything.

I was having the same issues, Ticker, but I just thought it was my work computer, which is a hunk of garbage. Switching over to FireFox has eliminated all the issues for me. Thanks for the advice.

For those of you viewing the site on Internet Explorer 6, I worked on this issue last night. I believe I fixed it (I had three different browsers open on two computers to test it) so please let me know one way or the other.

Thanks! And please keep coming to me with issues like this. No issue is too small but I considered this a bigger issue.

Any way to make Avatars a bit bigger? No one can tell its Diego in my Av and they cant read the bottom line (I cant anyway) and I cant really see phoenix's either. Just a thought. No biggie if you cant.

I'll definitely look into that. I'm trying to make sure functionality is taken care of and I considered this a functionality issue because 20% of the users to this site use Internet Explorer 6.

But, I agree that the avatars are a bit small and hard to decipher including on the profile page....

Yeah, this is a small issue and probably shouldnt be brought up on this thread but was just asking. I noticed the profile page had the same size picture if not smaller so even if the picture there was enlarged to a bigger size because there is a lot of unused room there, that would suffice.
