as much as i see folks saying that fighters should honor their contracts, to a degree, i would expect the same of the business (of course it would likely cause affliction to fold if it tried to keep paying the retarded amounts it paid)
Here are all the 6-figure earners from the first event:
Fedor - $300,000
Tim Sylvia - $800,000
Andre Arlovski - $750,000 (including $250,000 win bonus)
Ben Rothwell - $250,000
Josh Barnett - $300,000
Matt Lindland - $300,000 (including $75,000 win bonus)
Vitor Belfort - $140,000 (including $70,000 win bonus)
Rothwell probably needs to take a cut. I'm not sure if Lindland is much of a draw either. And, while I think Arlovski is a draw, I'm not sure if he's a draw to the the degree that he can earn what he did either.
Funny how the league everyone says pays the best and is going to shut down the UFC because "all the top fighters are going to go to because they pay better" is asking guys to take a pay cut in their 2nd event...to quote Dana White "I make it look too easy."
the pay is going up a little each time...everyone can't have it all at once. the pay grows with the sport. you hear NFL vets talking about rookie contracts these days being way too much because when they were rookies there signing bonus was 1000 bucks or less.

It would be great if somehow the UFC could unify a coalition of leagues to create a more competitive system for fighters, fans and promotions...
