word i think thats fair.... i had this one party and asked these people, if they can chip in to help for the ppv, and i ended up the night with only 13 bucks and they raided my fridge and beer!!!! =0(..
For PPV fights, my friends and I always take turns going to each others house - I've never 'chipped in' and never had one of my friends 'chip in'... just bring lots of beer and snacks. Then again, it's always been a relatively small group of guys (3-5) (plus the women).

I think if there are five at the party and it's $50 for the ppv then each person pays their share so $10 per person. Or guests brings food and drinks.

yeah that sucks. and it's hard to bring up later without it being awkward or feeling like a jerk...
