I cant watch the video, but if it was a 'self-defense' oriented class and not an 'MMA competition' class, it very well may have groin shots promoted. In real self-defense situations, you can bet I wont think twice about blasting someone in the groin... when my wife took self defense classes there was a (rightfully) a lot of focus on groin shots and eye gouges. Anything to survive.
