Fedor vs. Big Timmy in July
From mmanews.com
With the recent announcement that M-1 Global was to be replaced by Adrenaline MMA and that Fedor would be a free agent lead many to speculate that Fedor might find himself in the UFC or EliteXC, but the news coming out of Fedor's camp says different.
According to sources in the Red Devil team, Fedor will take on Former UFC champion Tim Sylvia in an Adrenaline MMA event on July 19 in the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
When you consider that Mark Cuban's HDNet Fights events have been held in this same venue and that the Dallas Mavericks owner has show a huge amount of interest in Fedor since his recent arrival in the sport, smart money is betting that this fight will be broadcast live on HDNet.

Is this confirmed at all? I just doubt this to be true, I hope it is, but I wonder about the source... I heard this same claim ago about a week ago from someone else that was also claiming that Barnett and AA have agreed to fight in June, and that some guy from Xtreme Couture named Jay White was fighting Kurt Angle on the same card (as Barnett/AA)... all those claims seemed a little bogus so I dismissed it...
If it is, I realy hope Fedor sends Timmy cryin to Matt Hughes.
IF It happens I could really see Big Tim winning it. He has the reach to keep Fedor at bay and could shock the world.

Looks like this is being reported more widely now. It's great for the sport, but terrible the UFC could not put this together. This is probably going to be one of the 3-4 most important fights of the year. If Timmy wins, it validates his stardom and completely elivates Affliction...
Check out the pick from the Live Feeds section of Fedor and Tim... Fedor is a big guy (6'2? 240?) but Tim makes him look little. The question asked there is a good one... cage or ring?

maybe with the ring tim can hold on to it just like fedor did against lindland.

Oh I'm sure Fedor trained REAL hard for the Choi fight................................ heh.
And I hope its not in a ring... but somehow I think it will be. That was probably one of the first things negotiated by Fedors camp... that and no knees.
To Fedors defense... as much as I love Lindland and resent that he's not in the UFC, he didnt win that fight because of the rope... Lindland really didnt stand a chance in hell - Fedor was winning and going to win that fight regardless of the rope incident. At some point size and strength does make a difference. It was a stupid fight for Lindland to take imo and worse for Fedor to get credit for the 'W'... a middleweight?? C'mon - there was probably a 50lb-60lb difference there. I think there should be greater and lesser values put next to "W's" and 'L's"... right now Fedor has a "-" /i.e. negative value for his competition over the last 3 years. It would not be entirly shocking to me to see Fedor get KO'd in the first minute... just out of sheer rust... although I really believe Fedor takes this in a decision.
Either way its a loss for Randy and the UFC... great coup for Cuban and Affliction (&Cox). If they manage to get Barnett and Rothwell on the card too, not to mention if they somehow get AA signed... holy crap this would be the first decent HW fight card in well over a year! Adrenaline/Affliction/HDNet partnership would have more big-named HWs working with them than the UFC...
